Anti Aging and Age Management Services

Daniel Lebowitz M.D. offers numerous services that can help patients to overcome their health conditions and improve overall health and wellness.

Some of the services and therapies offered include:

hCG Diet Therapy

The HCG diet consists of injecting the hCG hormone (i.e., human Chorionic Gonadotropin a hormone produced by women during pregnancy) and limiting food consumption to between 500 and 1000 calories per day, for a minimum of 26 days with injections of hCG for 23 days and a maximum of 43 days with injections for 40 days, depending on the source. The hCG injections help curb hunger while the body burns stored fat for energy. Generally, the dieter can have two meals a day consisting of a protein, a vegetable (spinach, chard, chicory, beet greens, green salad, tomatoes, celery, fennel, onions, red radishes, cucumbers, asparagus, and cabbage), bread, and a fruit (orange, an apple, a handful of strawberries, or half a grapefruit). The hCG diet can help you lose weight and keep the weight off successfully. It can also help users to be healthier due to the amount of fruits and vegetables consumed. Dieters can lose up to 2 pounds a day and over 90 pounds over the course of the diet.

Heart Disease Prevention

Heart disease refers to an enlarged heart, coronary artery disease, heart attack, or congestive heart failure and is the leading cause of death in America. Heart disease prevention includes quitting smoking, eating a healthy diet, getting plenty of exercise, managing weight and getting adequate amounts of sleep. Symptoms of heart disease include shortness of breath, chest pain, nausea, sweating, and fast or irregular heartbeats. Heart disease prevention can help people live longer lives. Quitting smoking, eating healthy and exercising can increase and improve your quality of life.

Mineral Supplementation

Mineral supplementation is the process of supplementing minerals and vitamins (i.e., magnesium, iron and zinc) that are not being sufficiently produced naturally. These essential nutrients help regulate appropriate body system functioning, like the immune system. Mineral supplementation can maintain and improve healthy bodily functioning including the regulation and production of the stress hormone cortisol. For instance, zinc has been shown to decrease cortisol levels which may be helpful for those suffering from adrenal fatigue.

Anti-aging treatment refers to treating age related problems like face wrinkles, sagging skin, cellulite, age spots and crow’s feet. Anti-aging treatments include face-lifts, Botox treatments, and Mesotherapy. Anti-aging treatments help recipients’ look and feel better and can improve mental, emotional, and physical health. When people look good, they feel good.

Herbal Medicine

Herbal medicine – also referred to as botanical medicine, herbalism or phytomedicine – is the use of plants for medicinal purposes. Plants have been used for medicinal purposes for much of human history and herbal medicine is still practiced in many countries today. Though herbal medicine is not recognized by Western medicine, plant-derived compounds are widely used in the production of many pharmaceutical drugs. Using natural remedies are beneficial to the body. They are easier to break down for use than synthetic compounds and may not have side effects that are known to accompany pharmaceutical drugs.

Natural Pain Management

Natural pain management refers to using natural substances to treat pain. These include green tea, ginger, cat’s claw and willow bark. In addition, low vitamin D levels have been associated with chronic pain and fish oil has been shown to help with headaches, back pain and autoimmune conditions like rheumatoid arthritis. Though these substances have some of the same side effects and traditional medicines, the side effects tend to be much less severe. The damage done to the liver and kidneys using traditional medicines are more substantial compared to when using natural pain relievers.

Nutrition refers to the selection, preparation, and economics of food. Food provides our bodies with the energy, protein, essential fats, vitamins and minerals to live, grow and function properly. We need a wide variety of different foods to provide the right amount of nutrients for good health. Eating a healthy diet is vital for good health and well-being and can prevent many maladies, such as high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes and scurvy.

Bio-identical Hormones

Bio-identical hormones are hormones from plants that are identical to the hormones found in the human body. Bio-identical hormones are synthesized from plants like soy and yams and can help restore hormone levels and appropriate bodily functioning. For example, supplementing bio-identical estrogen, testosterone and progesterone can help relieve symptoms of perimenopause and menopause like vaginal dryness, hot flashes, and irritability.

Testosterone Replacement

Hormone replacement therapy for men is often, but not limited to, testosterone replacement. Many in the medical community refer to the phenomena of low androgen levels (i.e., male sex hormones) in men as low t (low testosterone). Men who believe they have low testosterone levels should consult a physician and schedule and check-up. There could be serious medical conditions associated with symptoms that can be corrected with proper medical treatment. Testosterone replacement has been shown to improve erectile dysfunction, memory loss, depression, and gynecomastia (i.e., male breasts).

Infusion Therapy

Infusion therapy involves the administration of medication intravenously through a needle or catheter. Generally, infusion therapy is prescribed when patients’ conditions are so severe that oral medications aren’t effective. Medications administered via infusion therapy include antibiotics, antifungals, antivirals, pain management medications, chemotherapy medications and liquids for hydration. Infusion therapy can help with cancer related pain, rheumatoid arthritis, hemophilia and Crohn’s disease.

Cosmetic Treatments

Cosmetic treatments are treatments that enhance our appearance. These treatments include reconstructive surgery, elective cosmetic surgery, liposuction, chemical peels, teeth whitening, laser hair removal and Botox injections. These treatments can help people feel better physically, emotionally and mentally.

IV Therapy

IV therapy refers to liquid substances or medications injected directly into the veins. This allows medication to reach the heart quickly and circulate through the body fast. IV therapy is prescribed for those suffering from dehydration, blood loss, sudden drops in blood pressure and the effects of chemotherapy.

Vitamin supplementation

Vitamin supplementation refers to ingesting vitamins that are not being produced normally by the body. Each vitamin plays a specific role in the body and when levels are low, the body can malfunction. The body needs certain amounts of minerals and vitamins to function properly and we may not get enough of them from the foods we eat. These vitamins include vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin B and vitamin K. Proper levels of vitamins can reduce stress, reduce wrinkles, boost energy, improve performance, and assist with weight loss.

Detoxification is the process of removing toxins from the body. The theory states that toxins can build up in the body and cause damage. Detoxification reduces these toxins in the body which promotes appropriate functioning of bodily systems. Detoxification helps those suffering from allergies, asthma, arthritis, depression, diabetes, headaches, heart disease and high blood pressure. Detoxification can relieve stress and many of the maladies associated with toxin build up.

Lab Testing

Laboratory tests check a sample of your blood, urine, or body tissues. A technician or your doctor analyzes the test samples to see if your results fall within the normal range. The tests use a range because what is normal differs from person to person. Many factors can influence lab testing including age, sex, race, diet, and medications taken. Lab testing can help detect illness before it becomes untreatable. These illnesses include cancers, heart disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure.

Weight Loss

Weight loss refers to the reduction in body mass due to loss of fat or adipose tissue, bone, muscle or fluids. Weight loss can occur intentionally or due to an underlying medical condition. The benefits of healthy weight loss are less risk of diabetes and heart disease, an increase in energy, and an increase in self-confidence and motivation.

Fitness Testing

Fitness testing is a series of measurements that assess your levels of health and physical fitness in comparison to the norm for your age and gender. There are many measurements and tests given to determine your baseline level of fitness. These tests include resting vital signs, body composition, strength, endurance, cardiovascular fitness and flexibility. Fitness testing is important and helps to monitor progress, provide incentives, and identify strengths and weaknesses.
